A film and resource pack for use by professionals working with young people aged 13+.
Hench looks at what it means to be strong and how, for boys and young men, being strong may not always be the best way to stay well.
This resource contains two interlinked elements:
- An intimate, emotionally charged, single voiced play which provides a powerful stimulus to provoke meaningful and important peer discussion, supporting emotional and mental wellbeing.
- An accompanying facilitators pack, which has a range of follow up activities to explore the issues raised in the drama.
Researched with young people in the North West, and supported by Healthy Young Minds, Hench has been funded by NHS Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale CCG in partnership with Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.
This resource is a digital version of the live performance and facilitated workshop that toured to Rochdale secondary schools in 2018.
Cost: Free for Rochdale schools, fee highly subsidised for schools outside of Rochdale.
