M6 worked with Touchstones to support Rochdale Literature and Ideas Festival’s playwriting competition for young people. Local playwright Riz Ali was crowned winner and saw their words brought to life on the stage during the finale of the festival in October 2019.

The 22-year-old’s play, inspired by Rochdale Town Hall, was performed in the iconic building itself by professional actors, with direction from Participation Programme Manager, Caroline Kennedy.
