M6 works in partnership with schools to bring artists, children and teachers together for a magical, theatrical shared experience. We tour all of our professional productions into primary schools and also offer residencies and bespoke participatory projects.

Shows

Our productions place children and young people’s wellbeing and empowerment at their centre, enhancing the pupils’ understanding of themselves, their relationships with others and the world around them.

We are currently taking bookings for All the Small Things, touring to schools from May 2026. If you would like to book this show, please email [email protected].

Production Resource Materials

We create imaginative and memorable resource materials to accompany productions.  These further enhance the creative and learning opportunities initiated by the performance and provide additional stimulating opportunities for children and young people to interact with the performance long after our visit.

Production Linked Workshops

We can offer an additional range of workshop models allowing pupils to explore the themes of the play and interact with the actors or specialist workers using dynamic, active learning techniques.

Schools Linking

Schools Linking is a powerful national educational programme that brings together two carefully matched classes from different schools in the same local area – often from contrasting social, ethnic, faith or geographical backgrounds. Over the course of a thoughtfully planned, year-long series of activities, pupils come together to explore key themes such as identity, diversity, community and equality.

The heart of Schools Linking lies in building connections – helping children become comfortable with difference, deepen their understanding of other, and develop a sense of belonging within their wider community. Designed by teachers and grounded in educational research, it aligns closely with the curriculum while being fun, safe, creative, and memorable for pupils.

M6 is proud to contribute to this programme by providing a neutral venue for the classes’ first meeting, which includes watching a theatre production and taking part in a drama workshop.

Speech Bubbles

Speech Bubbles is a weekly drama programme using drama, play and stories to help children develop confidence, communication and creativity.

Why do we need it?

Anywhere between 3 and 15 children in every KS1 class will have a communication need that is affecting their learning, their enjoyment of school and their socialisation.

Who is it for?

Speech Bubbles is for children aged 5-7 who find it difficult to develop the speech, language and communication skills they need for life. Children are referred to the programme by their class teacher or SENDCo.

How is it delivered?

Referred children take part in a weekly small group drama session delivered by a specialist drama practitioner and a member of the school’s support staff.

The sessions are designed to work with children’s natural instincts to play, to tell stories and to have fun.

To find out more, take a look at the short video which explains more about the project’s work.

Last year, 100% of pupils involved in Speech Bubbles improved their learning, speaking and listening skills and teachers noticed improvements back in the class of 100% of participants.

Storytelling Workshops

Our storytelling drama workshops use drama to explore what makes a good story and how we can use our imagination, bodies and voices to tell them!

Using drama activities, we will create our own stories and act them out together. We model a joyful, playful approach where children’s imaginations, creativity and expression are nurtured in a safe and fun environment.

Delivered by highly skilled drama practitioners. Suitable for EYFS, KS1 & 2.

We can deliver up to 4 workshops across the school day for £275+VAT in the Rochdale Borough. For schools outside the Rochdale Borough or for bespoke sessions including SEND sessions please contact us to discuss further.

Arts Award
