Local Environmental Initiatives

  1. Eco Schools

The Eco-Schools programme provides a unique opportunity that empowers pupils to lead change within their school and have a positive impact in their wider community. The programme encourages pupils of all ages and abilities to work together to develop their knowledge and environmental awareness.

  1. City of Trees

City of Trees is an innovative and exciting movement set to re-invigorate Greater Manchester’s landscape by transforming underused, unloved woodland and planting a tree for every man, woman and child who lives there, within a generation. A City of Trees will mean great things for Greater Manchester and you can help to make it happen.

  1. Woodland Trust

The Woodland Trust want to make sure everybody in the UK has the chance to plant a tree. So they are giving away hundreds of thousands of trees to schools and communities.

  1. Rochdale In Bloom

In Bloom has inspired an increasing number of volunteer organisations to take up the clean and green challenge. Volunteers come from every corner of the borough with representatives from 4-94 years old. Among the volunteers in Rochdale are primary and secondary schools, community groups, charities, friends groups, as well as individuals who brighten up their streets and businesses.
